Together Tuesday #21: Praise your spouse

We all love praise. Frankly, encouragement can drive us to higher heights. But husbands and wives often verbalize criticism instead of positive reinforcement. We humans tend to remember negative words much more than positive ones so, if you don’t praise your spouse at least twice as much as you criticize, you may find yourself with an unhappy companion.

Try reversing those numbers. Double the praise and halve the criticism. Even when you do have to ask your husband or wife to change something in your relationship, try prefacing it with a positive statement.

Who knows? Maybe he actually will stop leaving his socks on the floor! 🙂

Happy marriage,

JP Robinson
